For the last few months, I’ve had the feeling that the number of posts or comments about Bitcoin everywhere has been decreasing.

Furthermore, the messages are pretty much the same, especially on X, and personally I don’t stop by Bitcoin forums and communities as much as I used to.

If Bitcoin is getting boring, shouldn’t we change the narrative, the content—something that grabs attention the way it used to?

The question is: what kind of content should that be? Personally, I believe it has to do with Bitcoin use cases beyond being a store of value. For example, places where Bitcoin is actually used to buy and sell things, whether online or in the streets.

Self fulfilling prophecy

Adrian’s traded in the bright lights of Hollywood for Kintsugi Ranch, a 46-acre sustainable farm and wildlife sanctuary in Bastrop, Texas.

The 49-year-old now focuses on regenerative agriculture and sustainability as well as eco-conscious living.

The green move came after the pandemic where he expressed a desire to get back to basics and appreciate nature’s offering.

He describes his ranch as a ‘mini-community’ with a hippy holistic attitude where people are invited to come build and live there, and grow and share food together.

Adrien is a vocal Bitcoin advocate and is exploring using cryptocurrency to run his farming community.

“I like the technology – the decentralization of bitcoin, which gives more access to more people,” he told CNBC previously.

“I’m also spending it and trying to use it in the real world,” he said. “Right now, bitcoin is so volatile because it’s new, and people are looking at it as a trade…Eventually, it’s going to settle down and it’s going to be the currency that we use.”

Bitcoin critics often push back against the wealth disparity and the great deal of power that is used in creating new coins, in a process called ‘mining’, which involves a global network of computers working together to make them.

But Bitcoin process ‘mining’ – which uses a global network of computers to create new coins – unsurprisingly carries a large carbon footprint too that arguably contrasts Adrien’s green beliefs.

“Bitcoin does definitely have an environmental footprint,” he says. “But let’s not pooh-pooh efforts to try and make a technology that’s actually going to give a lot of empowerment to people around the world.”

During his days in the spotlight, Adrien was known for being a bit of a playboy and dated many famous women including Australian star Isabel Lucas, Sabrina The Teenage Witch actress Melissa Joan Hart and Twilight’s Ashley Greene.

The “ego-shattering” moment forced him to re-evaluate his life and what was important to him.

After doing significant inner work, the pair reconciled with a shared vision of a simpler life.

They went on to elope in Morrocco in 2022 and now have two children, Seiko and Evren.

“I told her I wanted to buy land and do nature, she sent me a picture she did an exercise where she was drawing a picture of what she wanted to manifest.

“It was land and community and family and home, so it was fated,” he expressed.

As for his former Hollywood life, The Devil Wears Prada 2 director David Frankel recently revealed he had planned to bring back Adrian for the sequel but timing wasn’t on his side.

The Bitcoin community is gradually forming a shared view on the risks posed by quantum computing. Alex Thorn, Research Director at Galaxy Digital, shared observations from recent discussions held in Las Vegas.

He noted that both skeptics and advocates are beginning to align on key positions. The emerging agreement covers Satoshi Nakamoto’s holdings, post-quantum cryptography development, and how the broader ecosystem should respond.

A central point of agreement is that Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin should remain untouched. Thorn noted that interfering with those holdings could seriously damage Bitcoin’s core value proposition around property rights. This position appears to be widely shared across different camps within the community.

Thorn also pointed out that the actual risk may be lower than commonly believed. Nakamoto’s coins are spread across roughly 22,000 addresses, each holding 50 BTC.

As he noted in a post on X, “a long range attack would have to crack them all,” meaning it is not a single concentrated target.

The larger risks, Thorn explained, sit with exchanges and active entities holding large amounts of Bitcoin. However, those parties can upgrade to post-quantum addresses when needed, reducing their vulnerability. This makes them less of a realistic target compared to concerns raised in earlier discussions.

Additionally, Thorn referenced the “hourglass proposal” as a potential measure if a long-range quantum attack ever appeared imminent.

He also cited data showing that Bitcoin markets have routinely absorbed over one million BTC in sell pressure. Even a sharp drawdown from Satoshi’s coins being cracked would likely be manageable, and most Bitcoin holders would accept that trade-off to preserve property rights.

The second area of emerging agreement involves post-quantum cryptographic research. Most people Thorn spoke with agree that developing new cryptographic tools for Bitcoin is a worthwhile effort. The work includes testing, signature compression, and debating how it could eventually be implemented.

There are, however, recognized risks with moving too fast. Thorn outlined concerns such as diverting developer resources, introducing untested technology into the protocol, and creating consensus gridlock that could stall other upgrades. These risks make the timeline and approach important factors.

A broadly accepted middle ground appears to be developing a post-quantum solution and placing it “on the shelf” for when or if it becomes necessary.

This approach allows preparation without forcing premature changes to the protocol. Thorn described this as “unequivocally a good thing” based on his conversations.

Thorn closed by noting that even a one percent chance of quantum computing affecting Bitcoin justifies continued work on the issue.

He also acknowledged that urgent warnings about the threat have helped push these critical discussions forward within the developer community.

I remember it like yesterday. I had money even as a freshman in high school from royalties for a film I worked on.

I wasn’t sure what to invest in. I literallly went to the guy who I knew was brilliant. Real sharp guy. He said, and I swear to god, “buy bitcoin”.

Like it was the most obvious thing. As if I was an idiot for NOT doing it.

I looked at him like he was an idiot.

Why would I buy bitcoin! It was a few cents, now it was almost $19. I knew I had “missed the boat” and this guy was a dumb ass.

Damn. If I haven’t eaten my hat.

I think about this often.

I only today calculated. I bought Disney stock and… Dogecoin instead.

My dogecoin profit multiplier was absurd, but nowhere near the 83.2 million I’d have made in Bitcoin.

But let’s be real. I’d have sold at $89. Not $100K…

Asking for some advice. When I stay at campgrounds, sometimes the rate for the site includes water and electricity. Since it’s a flat rate, I would like to get one of those bitcoin mining rigs that also doubles as a space heater. This would be perfect for the winter. Im an older person (mid 40s). I've been working since I was 13. My parents taught me the basics of saving $. When I was young (13-16), I would work in the summers to earn money to buy stuff for myself (radios, Super Nintendo, speakers, Michael Jordan shoes, tapes and CD players, etc). Instead of playing around all summer with my friends, I worked to earn my own money. I worked in a field cutting fruits and vegetables so the owner of the field could sell them at his roadside stand. People from all across the county would come to buy his fruits and vegetables. This was the genesis of my understanding of money.

Fast forward to my 20s: I had a good work ethic I had learned from my parents, and I had a vocation that paid very well. I basically learned to be a technician for vending equipment. However, instead of investing, I simply saved money in my bank account, and then spent the rest on bills, alcohol, poker, and girls. Although I did always save like my parents taught me to do, I never was any further ahead than the next guy because I had no knowledge of investing. My parents never taught me that.

Fast forward to 2021: I had a friend from High School, Jason, who hit me up out of the blue on Facebook. This was a guy that I spent my freshman year in high school with in my economics class working on a stock market investment project. Basically, our economics teacher made everyone team up with a partner to learn stock market investments. I knew Jason's older brother because we played on the football team together, so it was cool to team up with my buddy's younger brother on an academic project. Anyways, back then, you had to read the newspaper to see prices, and buying and selling took days. Well, Jason and I bought AT&T as our backbone and some other good stocks like Microsoft in our mock portfolio. We ended up coming in 1st place at the end of the year. I explain all this to explain why he randomly called me up in 2021; I guess he never forgot me from that project we did together in 1994-95.

He wanted to tell me about a short squeeze he discovered about GME. I had no clue WTF he was even talking about because, like I explained, I was preoccupied by work, alcohol, poker, and girls. Anyways, I drove over to his house one night in Jan 2021 to crack a few beers and catch up on old times (he lived on the other side of town). That's when my investment "career" started.

Jason showed me that it was possible to invest on a phone. Prior to that, I only thought you could do that by calling a brokerage firm and looking in the newspaper for prices. He literally showed me that he had bought GME at $10 and it was (at the time) $300. That's what got me hooked.

Then, I started researching because I have a masters degree in management and administration, which forced me to learn the skill of research. That's when I found BTC. I ended up passing on GME and buying AMC. My first buy was $10 even. As soon as I bought, AMC went to like $12. So, I bought more. I could give more info about the craziness of AMC and GME back then, but this is a BTC post and I need to get to the part about BTC.

So, all my friends were completely about GME and AMC (and I was in AMC), but I noticed BTC. At the time, it was around $34k or so, if I remember correctly. I waited till BTC was at $26k, and I started buying heavy. Unfortunately, it fell down to like 17k and I sold fir massive losses. This all happened because I still, at that point, did not understand what BTC is.

By the time BTC went back to $25k, I knew what it was. I went all in. I took loans out, spent all my free cash, and als I DCAd every day. Then, BTC ran. I held. Then BTC fell hard again. I held. I learned to NEVER sell my main stack of BTC. NEVER! Its okay to short term trade with a side stash, but never trade your main stack of BTC.

Now, 2026: Jason never bought BTC. He stayed with the bs GME play. That's the difference. 2 guys that had the same IQ, the same drive, the same goals, but not the same vision of what BTC is.

This whole post can be boiled down to one very specific choice: you can either buy BTC and surpass everyone that doesn't. Or, you can keep sleeping and miss out on a new life. Don't be a Jason.

I'm always looking to see what people are finding the most interesting in the market so we can build out things that people are excited about and want access to.

We attended Bitcoin Vegas to talk about a Bitcoin SMA strategy that we launched recently and got a lot of interest, but our client minium for that product is $500,000 USD in BTC so it limits access to some people. I'd like to find more things that people would find interesting regardless of their bag size.

It looks like it created a new WALLET ID for me. So now when I log in with this account, it looks fresh. Can't see my funds.

But I can use the previous WALLET ID (the one I know is good) but it tells my password is incorrect, every time I go through the password reset flow, it creates and associates a new WALLET ID to my account.

I can't contact support, because it requires logging in, which after logging in takes me to the home screen (where I can try to "contact support", but I am now in an infinite loop)

I’ve invested a small amount of money in bitcoin. I would like to invest more but the capital gains tax in my country (Ireland) has kinda taken the fun out of it. We have to pay 33% and that doesn’t change no matter how many years you let your investment sit.

Interested to know what others pay in their country and whether you think it’s still worthwhile for me to invest more.

Intro

Most of you here reading this likely agree with me, that Bitcoin is the greatest store of value asset ever created. With that in mind, I think it's interesting to consider the store of value use case as it exists throughout the entire economy, and how different policies could increase Bitcoin's share against competing assets.

Gold is the most obvious direct comparison. It has an order of magnitude larger market cap, and Bitcoin perfects its monetary qualities. On a long enough time horizon, you can see how through technological innovation, custodial issues, etc. that a lot of savings currently in gold could shift toward Bitcoin. At some point in the future, gold may even lose most of its scarce qualities if we get really good at asteroid mining or hydrometallurgy (although to be fair, this is bordering on sci-fi given current tech).

I bring up gold first, just to clearly illustrate with a more direct example the core assumption behind my argument: Bitcoin is competing in a store of value marketplace, in which it has a massive opportunity to gain in market share.

The core of my argument, however, applies the same principles to the real estate market.

The Monetization of Real Estate

Real estate's market cap is roughly $55T in the US, and almost $400T globally. The monetization of real estate is talked about frequently in Bitcoin circles, alongside speculation that capital from real estate could flow into other asset classes like BTC under the right conditions. In this case, "monetization" basically means that people treat real estate as a store of value.

Although it's obvious real estate has intrinsic qualities that BTC can't fully replicate (you can do stuff on it like touch grass, and collect economic rent), I do largely agree with that sentiment; it's obvious many individuals and companies hold real estate as a way to park wealth or speculate on appreciation.

Apart from real estate's inherent qualities, a non-insignificant portion of real estate owners would sell or downsize, if it didn't function properly as a store of value asset.

This leads me to why as a Bitcoiner, the Georgist LVT is something I find very intriguing, as land value tax radically undermines real estate's ability to store wealth.

Quick Primer on Land Value Tax

The goal of a land value tax is to fully capture the rental value of a piece of property, without taking any private improvements into consideration. As a very simple example, let's say a plot of land with nothing on it could attract a rent of $1,000. Alice purchases the land, and builds an apartment complex that generates $3,000 in total rent. A 100% LVT would tax the initial $1,000, leaving her with $2,000 profit.

Bob purchases an identical parcel right next door, but doesn't want to build anything on it, since he's only using it to park wealth. The LVT still taxes him the same $1,000 for his exclusive right to use that land.

You can see how with a traditional property tax system, Alice is punished when using her land for its intrinsic qualities (doing stuff, touching grass), and rewarded with an LVT. The opposite is true for Bob. By purely owning land for its monetary qualities, Bob is rewarded in a traditional property tax system (he doesn't build anything that hikes his taxes), and punished in an LVT system.

LVT Impact on Real Estate & BTC

Under an LVT tax scheme then, if Bob was only interested in holding land for its monetary qualities, he will sell the land and shift his capital toward other store of value assets. Granted, it isn't a guarantee that 100% of that is flowing into Bitcoin specifically, but it is still true that Bob's capital is looking for a new home.

He could very well put the money into bonds, stocks, gold, artwork, etc. but if there are a million Bobs out there facing a similar situation, I think a significant portion of that misplaced capital flows into Bitcoin instead. Grant Cardone himself, whatever you think about the guy, is just one obvious and public example of a real estate investor who has already pivoted millions into Bitcoin, away from his personal real estate portfolio.

Conclusion

Bitcoin is already a far superior store of value when compared to real estate. In regards to liquidity, portability, divisibility, fungibility, and even scarcity, it isn't a competition. The reality of our legacy economy though, is that far more value is stored inside the inferior asset class.

I'm a Georgist and LVT supporter for many other reasons beyond the potential it has on strengthening Bitcoin, but it's obvious to me that an opportunity exists to accelerate capital flows toward the superior store of value.

I thought 1 year ago, that now it’s time, the world is straight in path for btc. We saw the current administration doing a lot of good things for bitcoin, but hey, I see nothing from companies to do some effort to invest in BTC. The list is stil very short with companies putting bitcoin in balance sheet. Companies, we are talking about million of companies worldwide that could invest as little as 20 k USD of BTC in balance sheet and this investment would not even mean anything if it went to 0. I am just explaining that, I work for a company, we are 300 people and I see the money flow in the company. It’s millions of millions usd daily. The CEO of companies are way to conservative, wake up now, but that btc in balance sheet. Already in 2026 we should see thousands of companies worldwide every month joining the new monetary system. 20 k has into BTC investment for a company is like a drop of water in the sea.

I’ve used CashApp for years to buy small amounts of Bitcoin to either hold or access quickly if needed. Their customer service is tanking (Dorsey’s goal is to have only 2 employees, so it’s only gonna get worse). Is there another platform I can trust/use to buy/hold/sell as needed? TIA

What brokerageir accounts do you guys like for timing your buys? Coinbase takes like 3-5 days to officially receive my money from the bank. Then when it's sitting in the USD account it's making no money.

If you wanted to put a chunk if cash in a BTC brokerage for instant buys, are there any accounts offering 3-4%?

For a lot of people Bitcoin does not make sense at first It just looks like another speculative asset

Just saw the Spiegel report yesterday that german officials have apparently finalized a plan to abolish "§23 EStG" — the 1-year holding period that's been the foundation of how everyone I know thinks about their stack. Cabinet vote expected within days. Effective from the next tax year.

A while ago now I read Allden's "Broken Money", and it was the idea of bitcoin as an emergency fund for those without access to regular money which stuck with me the hardest. I think part of why it was so poignant for me was that it made sense regardless of how wealthy one is to keep some funds which is soley controllered by you and noone else. By extension, owning just some bitcoin, even if it is a very modest amount, is equally prudent regardless of whether you are a billionaire or just have more modest savings.

The reason I decided to share this is because I rarely see this sentiment in the conversation. Most often I see the argument that bitcoin is the better alternative to fiat, that it will be future base of the financial system and so on. Don't get me wrong, I hope for this although I doubt it. But it does seem inevitable to me that most people should want to have a couple of satoshis just in case.

Often billionaires gets flack for building bunkers, but I think most of us would do so. Why? Not because of "eat the rich", not because they expect the world to end, but simply because its not an expense for them anymore. Why not? I would.

Ironically this it why I think Bitcoin might just increase enormously in value. People will want to own just a little of it, but for the very rich a little will comparatively mean a lot. But as long as the Bitcoin I own don't lose ALL their value (which seems improbably if not impossible) I will still be happy to own some even if it goes down quite a bit in price. And stays there.

Because it is my tiny affordable bunker, which I hope to never need.

Been a Bitcoin buyer now for about 5-6 years now, usually bought at the top and sold on the way down 2 times now. This is the first time I have held my nose on the bottom and I hope it goes higher.

Caveat, I don't plan on selling my Bitcoin but I am reconsidering if I should keep investing.

I guess my question is, is there enough money for us to see it go to 300k? When it was at $120K it was valued at about 2T if I am not mistaken.

I'm afraid that we keep waiting for some dramatic “mass adoption moment,” like a switch flipping overnight. Meanwhile, it’s already happening-quietly, unevenly, and mostly outside the bubbles that think they’re the center of the world.

In countries with stable currencies, Bitcoin is a “speculative asset.” In countries with collapsing ones, it’s survival. That alone should tell us something about where this is going.

We don’t notice adoption because it doesn’t need our validation. It happens when someone realizes their savings are melting. When cross-border payments are broken. When “trusted” institutions fail one too many times.

And here’s the uncomfortable truth: Bitcoin isn’t waiting to be adopted by everyone. It’s being adopted first by the people who actually need it.

By the time it feels obvious in the West, it won’t be early anymore-it’ll be inevitable.

So the real question is: are we early or just early enough to still ignore it?

Right now, Medicare covers everybody over the age of 65 in the United States. As AI improves longevity, this number of people in this age, even with the decreasing population is going to grow. Medicare and health insurance is going to implode and the only way to afford these new technology’s will be with the best money ever created.

I have no idea when this is going to happen, but it will affect all of us. Longevity is going to be similar to cosmetic surgery, not a right but a want.

Stay humble and stack sats and enjoy the next 100 years.

TL;DR: I’ve spent the past 18 months analyzing the change-address bug in Bitcoin 0.3.2 that caused the loss of 8,900 BTC by Bitcointalk user #288 (“Stone Man”) on August 9, 2010. I believe these coins can be recovered if the original owner can be found and is willing to share a few technical details. The coins remain his — I’m not asking for anything except to help return them.
Background
On August 9, 2010, a forum user posted about losing 8,900 BTC due to the notorious
“change-address bug” in the Bitcoin 0.3.2 wallet. He had restored an older wallet.dat and
made a 1 BTC self-send; the change went to a newly-generated address whose private key was lost when his Live USB system was rebooted. The transaction is on-chain:

The user’s last message ended with “gone for good” and he never returned to the forum.
What I’ve found
The wallet’s private-key generation in this environment depends on a chain of weak entropy
sources I’ve been able to model in detail:

OpenSSL 0.9.8g-15 (Debian Lenny patched) md_rand state machine, bit-for-bit
Bitcoin 0.3.2’s RAND_add and RAND_bytes call sequence in CreateTransaction
I’ve built a CUDA implementation that searches the parameter space at ~2M keys/sec on a single laptop GPU. Without specific hardware/timing information from the original user, the
search space is too large (~10^16 to 10^22). With his cooperation — confirming utsname, hardware, boot timing, network state, and a few session details — the search space shrinks by roughly 10 orders of magnitude. With his old wallet.dat (or the sender address private key alone), the search becomes nearly instantaneous:
minutes on a laptop.
The key reason cooperation is so leveraged: the same PRNG state that produced the change-address private key also produced the ECDSA signing nonce used in the transaction. If the sender’s private key is known (it’s in his old wallet.dat anyway), the nonce
can be derived from the on-chain signature, providing a powerful verification channel that eliminates the most expensive part of the search.
Why I’m doing this
I have no claim on these coins. They belong to the original user. My goal is to return them. If a small thank-you is offered after a successful recovery, I’d accept — but it’s not a condition.

Hi all

I’m right now scrambling to stop my father in law from getting scammed by an investment firm trading bitcoin. It is Finex Ltd.

He has transferred around € 10.000 by now and is promised to have a payout of more than € 100K. There seems to be a 100K balance in USDT in a coinbase wallet on the solana network but it seems to be locked. And from wHAT i understand, solana does not support USDT.

Finex is now asking him to deposit another € 10K to withdraw the money. I am absolutely convinced he is getting scammed and I am trying to keep him from paying more.

This rare item is "mostly" complete. The full "main" 88 pages of the newspaper are being sold. That includes the Front Page (the most valuable part of this newspaper) and the second part of the front page article (Chancellor on Brink etc) referenced in the Bitcoin Genesis block by Satoshi, on page 6.

• From looking at the bottom left hand corner 6 character fingerprint of this copy, it is consistent with my copy, and others I have seen online. (though it is partially cut off, which has been seen with a previous copies listed online. My copy, however, is not cutoff, but clearly prints the entire 6 letters with no errors.
• The yellowing of the front page is consistent with ageing due to sunlight exposure.
• A few months ago, a new Bitcointalk user claimed to have found a copy of this rare item, and was interested in selling it, and asked for help in doing this. Today's auction is consistent with that bitcointalk user.
• "Prior to final settlement, the winning bidder may, at their own expense, engage an independent expert of their choosing to verify authenticity." I highly recommend any buyer undertake professional Verification of this item for sale by comparing ink / paper / other bio markers.

Conclusion:

I'd say there is a very good chance this rare item for auction is a real original copy of The Times Jan 3 2009.

With that said, it isn't as complete as others.

The missing inserts makes up more then 100+ pages of content from 2 magazines, and several other interesting newspaper print sections that are value add.

So consider this a discount item for sale. The more complete originals out there, with less ageing (yellow sun damage) will likely fetch a higher price.

Any buyer should VERIFY the authenticity of this item by employing a professional before handing over their bitcoin.

In February 2023, Major Jason Lowery — an active US Space Force officer on a National Defense Fellowship at MIT — published a thesis called *Softwar*.

His argument: Bitcoin's Proof-of-Work is not a monetary mechanism. It is a form of power projection. Whoever commands the most mining infrastructure commands the most defensible territory in the digital domain. He recommended the DoD treat Bitcoin mining as a national security priority — no differently than naval power or satellite positioning.

Worth saying clearly before the usual dismissals start.

Keen isn't Schiff and he doesn't have a predictable agenda. He's a complexity theorist who built dynamic models of the economy and called 2008 before almost anyone in his profession did, so his argument deserves a serious answer rather than ridicule.

His case is straightforward. Bitcoin's security model requires proof-of-work to be expensive, because it has to cost more to attack the network than to defend it, and that means sustained, large-scale energy consumption. His contention is that climate policy will eventually make that politically untenable.

The difficulty is that he's treating Bitcoin's energy use as though it were a fixed quantity, and it isn't. When energy becomes expensive or heavily regulated, miners operating on thin margins leave the network, hash rate falls, and the difficulty adjustment mechanism recalibrates automatically. The network reaches a new equilibrium at lower energy consumption, which is a straightforward consequence of how the protocol is designed, not a theoretical possibility.

There's a second thing his argument doesn't account for. The renewable energy transition he's pointing to as the threat is simultaneously generating vast quantities of stranded power, meaning electricity produced at times or in locations where it simply cannot reach the grid, and miners are already the natural buyer of that energy. The same policy environment Keen believes will strangle Bitcoin is, through a different pathway, providing it with some of its cheapest and most abundant fuel.

Keen has precisely the analytical background needed to understand Bitcoin properly, particularly feedback loops, non-linear dynamics and complex adaptive systems, and the frustrating thing is that he's applied those tools to the wrong model of what Bitcoin actually is.

I've been working through this in some depth in a book published this month, The Satoshi Strategy, which applies System Dynamics formally to Bitcoin's economic architecture. Interested to hear whether anyone here has a formulation of the energy argument that actually survives this kind of analysis.

Binance P2P Appeal Nightmare (Case ID #160033659) – 11+ Days of Delays, Buyer Not Cooperating, No Resolution

I want to share my experience with a Binance P2P appeal because honestly this has gone way beyond normal.

I’m the seller in a transaction where the buyer failed to follow the payment instructions.

Even in the chat, he showed confusion about where he actually sent the money.

Despite this being clearly the buyer’s mistake, he immediately opened an appeal.

Now here’s where things start going wrong.

This case has been ongoing for more than 11 days, and instead of reaching a resolution, it has turned into an endless delay loop.

The buyer has repeatedly failed to provide proper evidence. Binance support specifically asked for video proof showing the chargeback status, including full transaction details and confirmation from the bank.

Instead of providing that, the buyer keeps sending irrelevant things like screenshots of the chargeback request, random transaction videos, or even WhatsApp messages that don’t show anything useful.

Even worse, he keeps sending the same type of proof again and again, multiple times, without actually meeting the requirements.

Despite this, Binance support keeps giving him more time.

What makes it more frustrating is that support themselves acknowledged at one point that the buyer made a mistake and sent funds to the wrong account.

They also repeatedly warned him to provide proper evidence and even issued “last warnings.”

But those warnings are never enforced.

Every time the deadline is reached, the buyer replies at the last moment with incomplete or irrelevant information, and instead of taking action, the case just gets extended again.

Another major issue is the reliance on the “chargeback” process. Support keeps saying to wait for the buyer’s bank to process it. However, banks typically take a maximum of around 72 hours for this kind of request.

We are well beyond that timeframe, and there is still no proper update, yet the case is still being delayed based on this.

At this point, it feels like the case is stuck in a loop:

wait → buyer sends weak proof → support extends → repeat.

On my side, I have already submitted all required evidence and have been actively responding throughout the entire process. Support even confirmed that there is no pending action required from me.

Yet somehow, the case is still not being resolved.

There have also been clear inconsistencies from support. At one point, they claimed no updates were received from either side, which is simply not true. In another instance, they sent a message meant for the buyer to me by mistake, which shows a lack of proper case handling.

This is not just frustrating—it raises serious concerns about how P2P appeals are managed:

-Lack of strict enforcement of evidence requirements

-Continuous extensions without accountability

-Poor coordination between support agents

-No clear resolution timeline

At this stage, it feels like as long as the buyer keeps replying with anything, no matter how irrelevant, the case will never end.

Has anyone else experienced something like this with Binance P2P?

Because right now it feels like the process is more about delaying decisions than actually resolving disputes fairly.

I always thought my first official post on reddit would be a question or query, but unfortunately I come bearing a warning ⚠️. I, like many, leave crypto in our many wallets to appreciate in value over time, me for example, I don't check regularly, only occasionally, this time I discovered something in my Ledger Account under my Flare wallet, and unrecognised transaction from 2 days ago. I haven't checked my assets in more than a month and i received 0.357 BUGO token on my flare wallet. It seemed very strange so I looked up the transaction details and sender wallet chain history and i discovered many transactions of the exact same amount of BUGO. I did further research and it's a common scam attempt. From my research, if you interact with it by sending it, spending it, burning it or anything like that, it leads you to a malicious website that tries to get you to do many things like sign unknown transactions, seed phrase and so on. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, interact with this unsolicited deposit or any unsolicited deposit for that matter. Just hide it in your account if possible and ignore it, interacting with it will cause problems. As long as you don't interact with it, only hiding the token, your fine, you assets are safe, its only after interacting with it that problems start

Project Eleven's announcement on Friday regarding the winner of its contest, which was seemingly intended as a warning shot for those still dismissing a quantum computing threat to bitcoin, instead hit the startup itself.

The team said that a researcher, Giancarlo Lelli, was awarded a 1 BTC bounty for breaking a 15-bit elliptic curve key on a publicly accessible quantum computer. According to Project Eleven, "the result is the largest public demonstration to date of the attack class" that threatens crypto assets.

Soon, the announcement on the X platform was community-noted as readers proved that the experiment "did not demonstrate effective quantum key-breaking."

"The method used to recover the 15-bit ECC [elliptic curve cryptography] key relies on classical verification of outputs indistinguishable from random noise, equivalent to classical guessing," the note reads, while other commenters have also emphasized that "the winner’s 'quantum' result works identically with a random number generator," and no quantum computer is needed here.

Besides, the project was also accused by another researcher of the winner copying their code word-for-word, and the contest results were also criticized by Craig Gidney, a research scientist on Google's quantum computing team.

"The ostensible goal of the QDay Prize was to raise awareness about this. Frustratingly, it has likely achieved the opposite result," Gidney said, adding that the competition failed in the way it was predictably going to fail.

"Save what credibility you have left and call a duck a duck. Take it on the chin, and be more careful next time," he added.

Meanwhile, Alex Pruden, the CEO of Project Eleven, which was recently valued at $120 million, admitted that Gidney is right and that the contest "was certainly imperfect."

However, Pruden noted that this space still lacks clear yardsticks for the "Q-Day" and asked for feedback on “how we can better incentivize open benchmarking towards Q-Day risk."

"I also want open benchmarking, and also generally agree with Project11’s mission and advocacy when it’s done well. I don’t have an idea for how to make open benchmarking a thing…for the near term, a blameless post-mortem of the competition could be a constructive next step," Gidney concluded.

As reported by Cybernews earlier in April, Google and the California Institute of Technology warned that cracking cryptography used by blockchains might require far fewer resources and a less powerful cryptographically-relevant quantum computer than previously thought.

I'm totally new to crypto but I've set up a wallet and it has funds in it (bitcoin.com.au). Now I want to pay for something online from an overseas website. They accept cypto and it says they use "NowPayments" I assume "NowPayments is the vast name? The problem is that name isn't on the list accepted by bitcoin.com.au. Does that mean I can't use bitcoin to pay them? I also tried selecting the option to transfer to a "personal wallet" Is this a correct thing to do? I have been working on a bitcoin explorer in my spare time. This is a fully indexed bitcoin explorer. Its really good for Exporting mass information from multiple addresses. You can search as many addresses as you want in the search and then create an export job. Its been fun to build and learn Rust. It was able to index bitcoin at about 13k transactions per second into psql.

There are many upgrades I need to do to this, but I wanted initial opinions or a couple users to stress SQL out some. Try to search 1000 addressess and export 100million rows into CSV and break it.

Hi all, I've used to buy and sell bitcoins in NYC when I used to be a teen (16 years old) during the time of casascius coins/bars in physical form.

So today I was going through an old hard drive with some bitcoin files both public/private key that I've kept archived and upon running through all of them, I've discovered one of them still has a balance on it --at the time I do recall leaving as is now due to the low denomination at the time.

Given it's been a while since I used to transact with crypto (a decade and years), how would I go about converting this to cash or reinvesting it on a wallet? At the time I'd use BTC-E or Mt Gox, not sure what the deal is these days (i.e putting it on Robbin Hood, Coinbase, etc).

What would the steps to have a safe and anonymous wallet that would never be tracked to a person name? This must include

Safety: if you suggest a website or an app to generate a wallet and get the keys for and then print it out on piece of paper. How are you 100% sure the generator is not fake?

Anonymity: getting the wallet undocumented and how to later on exchange it back to fiat without having to through places like Coinbase etc...

Purchasing: Many business online now accept crypto/btc but its usually associated to an account/name.

I feel like the regulations are "needed" for crypto to be accepted in masses but that kind of breaks the purpose of it.

Ppl only looking at short term liquidity saying shorts have been liquidated. But have u paid attention to older liquidity? Coinglass 3 month chart barely shows it. U need smth like trading different to see it fully. Goes all the way up to 96k. And there is a ton of it.

Pay attention to the sideways consolidation, we have been doing this every weekend and then pumping to the upside.

Dca/buy and hold

I have private keys from years ago to wallets that I've abandoned. Even though I don't use them and never plan to, I have a fear that I'll accidentally fund an old wallet from something that I forgot about (old exchange, someone tipping me to an old address, who-knows-what).

I was imagining some little self-hosted app on my node that checks new blocks against known archived wallets and lets me know if a transaction matches - or for larger amounts, sweeps the funds automatically.

I don't have anything like this, so I have copies of private keys and (for more recent wallets) seed phrases backed up in various places. I'm sure that I should be more organized about it, but what's the best way? I could see it getting out of hand easily and taking ages to go through everything on the regular to check balances.

I look forward to a discussion on the best way to handle this. What are your ideas/solutions?

I have tremendous trusts on wallets because its math foundation. But today, something happened and I am a little in doubt. Today, when i try to restore my wallet using seed phrase, I accidentally made a mistake, but I ended up restoring another wallet that is not mine. Even though there is no any coin in it, it casts a doubt on wallet’s safety. What if someone who created the wallet has put coins in it? I am about to move for work and I was wondering how were safely transporting seed phrases? I have to move through EU and US customs.

If you go look up a bitcoin chart from 2010 to now. Look at when the halving happened in 2020 and exactly 18 months after the halving it goes down tremendously (Halving happened in may 2020, EXACTLY 18 months after in novemeber 2021 it crashed) The exact same thing happened in 2024 halving, exactly 18 months after the 2024 halving (october 2025) it crashed.

Every major mining operation while seize to mine BTC because lack of profitability. The hashrate will plummet and bitcoin will become a vulnerable pet-project. Maybe even attacked by malicious entities.

Lightning Network been around for a while. I’m just not really seeing much traction. Feel free to down vote this if you think it’s not true, but Corre bitcoin versus lightning, Network just doesn’t seem to ever have really caught on. I do see some new wallets and some new innovation happening Starr app for example I just don’t see that many transactions even if you go to Steak ‘n Shake both lightning and core are accepted is anyone actually paying with lightning?

I’m writing this post because I want some clarification on how Bitcoin’s growth and not just Bitcoin let’s assume stocks too like the S&P500 appreciate compared to inflation.

So we know CPI is not a trustworthy economic indicator and we also know inflation is far worse than what the government says.

Now my biggest fear, and I hope I’m wrong, is that down the line bitcoin won’t make me wealthy but will just end up making me have the same life as I currently have. If I own bonds I’d be underwater, if I own stocks I’d be slightly ok, but I feel like if I own Bitcoin I’ll never be truly wealthy.

I’m looking to own my own property eventually and when I work full time I still feel like I’d be behind even with my Bitcoin.

We are officially at the point in the cycle where the "I told you so" crowd is getting quieter.

Remember when everyone was screaming for $40k? When the "cycle experts" said we had to crash -80% because "history repeats"? Look at the charts now. We’re sitting comfortably in the high $70ks, and suddenly everyone is acting like it was "obvious."

Institutional Floor: This isn't 2021 anymore. We have ETFs, sovereign wealth funds, and massive institutional accumulation. The "retail panic" moves don't hit the same when the liquidity is being swallowed by multi-billion dollar entities.

The "Safety" Illusion: Bottoms never feel safe. If it feels safe, you’ve already missed the entry.

Institutional Absorption: Every "dip" is being treated as a discount by the big players. If you're still waiting for a "proper crash" to enter, you're likely going to be the one buying the top from the people who bought the $60k bottom.

The Strategy:

Stop over-analyzing the noise. The bears will come out the moment we drop 2%, and the bulls will scream the moment we rise 5%. None of them have a crystal ball.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to share my research regarding the upcoming CGT changes that have been floated in the media over the last week.

Please keep in mind that these changes aren’t finalised so it’s speculative but still a MUST READ for early Bitcoiners or even shitcoiners who’ve had large wins.

According to Nine news papers; The current preferred CGT reform will be based around the Pre-1999 Howard era CGT system which adjusts the value of the COST BASIS for inflation and does away with the 50% capital gains tax discount we currently enjoy.

Let me elaborate with examples.

Under the current system, I can sell a Bitcoin I bought 15 years ago at $1 for $100,001 giving me a $100,000 profit. I apply the 50% discount and I’m left with $50,000 which gets taxed at my nominal tax rate (in my case) 47%

In total, I’m taxed about $23,500 in tax for $100,000 in Bitcoin I sell.

Under the Pre 1999 system (The system currently favored as the system most likely to be reintroduced) I’d sell my $1 Bitcoin for $101,000 and then I’d adjust the cost basis for inflation. It would be about $1.56 at 3% per year (compound adjusted)

That would mean I’d be getting taxed on a profit of $99,998.44 and would pay a total tax bill of $46999.27 for every $100,000 of Bitcoin I sell.

My tax bill literally DOUBLES under the proposed new system.

Now look, I want to be VERY clear that I’m not making and judgments on weather or not I think the current system is fairer that the other or not. That’s not what this post is about, the point of this post is simply to share the research I’ve done with people in a similar position to me so that you can begin to start war gaming the best way forward from here.

A case of extreme hodling.

Make a solid plan to keep some bitcoin in your family for the next 4 generations.

Everybody else here doesn't plan longterm, and all their satoshis will eventually be scooped up by governments, institutions, hedgefunds and cooperations.

Entities that can truly hodl for centuries.

Your great grandchildren will be amongst the only individuals on earth still having significant bitcoin in the next century - but only if you have a strategy to make it so.

No third parties, no lawyers, and no - just leave it up to the kids.

They will all sell, steal or just misplace it.

Sadly 99% in this sub will have no-coiners for grandchildren.

This is my prediction. Am I wrong?

Something most people never think about - by the time u see a price update on ur screen that data has already been through multiple hops. Exchange servers, data provider, normalization layer, then finally ur app. Every hop adds delay and for anyone running bots or active strategies that gap between the price u wanted and the price u got is usually right there.

Few things that actually matter at the data layer that nobody talks about:

WebSocket vs REST is not even a debate. REST ur sending a request and waiting for a response over and over. WebSocket keeps a connection open and pushes updates the second they happen. For live order book data REST just cant keep up.

Raw feeds from Binance, Bybit, OKX, Coinbase, Kraken all look completely different. Different schemas, different timestamp formats, different reconnect behavior. Most people either stick to one exchange or spend weeks writing their own normalization code just to compare prices across a few exchanges.

The sneaky one - Binance order book deltas use sequence numbers. Miss one update and ur entire order book state is silently corrupted. No error, nothing. Ur just trading on bad data without knowing it.

Anyone building bots or running strategies across multiple exchanges ... what does ur current data setup look like? Have u run into any of this?

Been using a ledger Nano X for a year now with a small position in BTC. As I transition a large percent of my portfolio into BTC, should I continue to use the Ledger or upgrade?

I originally started saving in bitcoin 2 years ago because I thought I could get a quick 2-3x to help me buy a nice truck. As I started learning more about bitcoin, my conviction grew and I started stacking more aggressively. Not wanting to sell my stack, I took out a loan to buy the truck.

I kept seeing people argue about whether crypto or real estate

is the better investment, but nobody was actually running the

full numbers. So I did.

Same starting point for both:

- $30,000 to invest

- Same year (2015)

- Same city, same income

Here's what I found after accounting for EVERYTHING:

REAL ESTATE (Rental Property):

→ $30K down on a $150K property

→ Tenant paying $1,400/month rent

→ Sounds great... until you add:

- Property taxes: $15,000 over 10 years

- Insurance: $12,000

- Repairs/maintenance: $30,000

- Vacancy (1 month/year avg): $15,000

- 600 hours of your own time managing it

After ALL real costs → roughly $175,000 to $195,000

in total equity after 10 years

BITCOIN (Held without selling):

→ $30K invested in 2015

→ Watched it drop 84% in 2018

→ Watched it drop 77% in 2022

→ Did NOT sell either time

After 10 years → roughly $1.5M to $2M

(after capital gains tax)

So crypto wins, right? Not so fast.

Here's the part nobody talks about:

Of the 750+ fiat currencies that have ever existed throughout history, the majority are now defunct, ended by hyperinflation, war, regime change, or deliberate debasement.

Bitcoin offers a structurally different model: a hard cap of 21M coins, enforced by code that cannot be altered without consensus from tens of thousands of globally distributed node operators. No committee sets the monetary policy. No central bank can expand the supply.

Whether that's desirable depends on your macro views. Flexible monetary policy advocates argue that you need the ability to expand and contract the supply to manage economic cycles. Fixed supply advocates argue you're just trading short-term stability for long-term erosion that has destroyed every fiat regime in history.

Most people write down their seed phrase on paper or stamp it into metal and call it done. Both are good. But there's a backup method almost nobody talks about that costs nothing and can't be stolen, lost in a fire, or found by someone going through your stuff.

You memorize it.

Before you say "I can barely remember what I had for breakfast," hear me out. The trick isn't brute-force memorization. It's a technique called a mnemonic story. You take your 24 words and build a ridiculous, vivid story that links them together in order.

The crazier and more visual the story, the better it sticks. Your brain is terrible at remembering random word lists but incredible at remembering stories, especially wierd ones.

Say your first four words are "achieve height taxi fiber." You picture King Kong climbing the Empire State Building because he's trying to get cell signal. He gives up, climbs down, hails a taxi, and asks the driver if they have fiber internet. Stupid? Yes. Unforgettable? Also yes.

You do this for all 24 words in chunks of 3-4, chaining the scenes together into one continuous story. My partner and I both did this and it took less than 10 minutes each. We tested each other the next day and both got all 24 correct.

A few rules we follow though. We never say the full phrase out loud unless we are absolutely certain we're not being recorded or overheard. When we quiz each other we skip the first and last word entirely. We just confirm the middle section. That way even if someone somehow overhead us, they don't have the complete phrase.

This doesn't replace your physical backup. Think of it as a third copy that lives in your head, can't be confiscated at a border, can't burn in a house fire, and travels with you everywhere.

One last thing that people don't think about. If you get hit by a bus tomorrow and your seed phrase is on a metal plate in your closet, does your family even know what those 24 words are for? Do they know not to type them into a random website? Memorizing it yourself is step one but making sure someone else can access your coins if you cant is the part almost everyone skips.

I’ve been thinking about a problem and wanted to get some thoughts from people here who understand Bitcoin long term.

A lot of people have most of their net worth tied up in their home, but accessing that value usually means either selling or taking on debt. That tradeoff has always felt off to me, especially for people who are very bullish on Bitcoin.

I put together a rough concept around a different way this could potentially work. Reddit wouldn’t let me post it directly, so I added the breakdown in the comments.

Not selling anything and not trying to pitch this as a real product, just genuinely curious if the idea itself makes sense or where it breaks. If anything is unclear feel free to ask and I can explain it better.

This reaction makes no sense. Only those who will be sellers of equities in the near future should be happy at seeing stocks rise. Prospective purchasers should much prefer sinking prices.

Assuming the majority of people on this sub are not near retirement, then you still plan to buy more BTC in the future than you currently have. You'll be able to buy more of it if the price is lower. So you should be cheering when it falls, and that is why the current "dip" is a blessing.

This doesn't apply if you are planning to liquidate soon, of course. Then you should want the price to skyrocket.

Just wondering how you guys are affording to do all this BTC investing.

My brother-in-law has become interested in Bitcoin recently, but I had no idea what to get him for his birthday. I didn't want to have to explain complicated Bitcoin stuff during the birthday dinner.

I came across gift "bearer" cards for Bitcoin. They are essentially cards that contain a private key tied to a set amount of Bitcoin. The gift recipient can access Bitcoin from the card when they want.

• I would be surprised if any of you have done this before. I have a few questions: Is it easy for the gift recipient to access the Bitcoin?
• Is the Bitcoin on the card truly safe?
• Do you have any bad stories about it?

I prefer gift cards over simply giving cash to someone. However, I am very hesitant about something that appears so simplistically designed in the crypto world. I want to know if this is the real deal or if this is just a promotional gimmick.

In 2019 a friend made fun of me for having bitcoin. Last night he tried connecting with me over both of us owning bitcoins. I called him out and reminded him how small he made me sound back in the day when I tried to put him on. I had been holding since then. Never sold. Just saw the report that over $593M in bearish bets got liquidated following the news about Iran fully opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Geopolitical tension in the Middle East has been heavily influenced on risk assets lately. Now that the macro situation is cooling down, the panic selling into cash seems to be pausing. This easing of macro fears, combined with that massive short squeeze, is giving BTC some real momentum. If we could have the $74k area into solid support, I'm leaning bullish for the short term. The path of least resistance feels like it's pointing up again.

During the choppy weeks before this pump, I've been running future grid bots on BYDFi to trade the range. It's solid for choppy markets and the execution is fast. Plus, the bot's trading volume actually unlocked a few draws for their 6th-anniversary event. It felt like a bonus cuz I got some coupons to offset the fees.

Where do you guys see BTC going for the rest of year? Do we still think the 4-year cycle will play out by the end of this year?

I bought some bitcoin a long time ago, an amount that for me was modest and I could afford to lose, call it X. By 2018 my holding was worth 3X, so I cashed out X and was left with 2X value of bitcoin. I was really pleased, I'm not wealthy, at the time I decided I couldn't afford to keep risking one day possibly totally losing my X investment, and I was happy to just leave my 2X there and see what it became. I never planned to buy more bitcoin.

I've loved following it ever since and was amazed to see bitcoin hit $120k.

I'm still not wealthy, but the recent dip has got me thinking that it just seems clear that there'll be another spike again, and it would be foolish to not try my same tactic again, though this time scaled down.

So thinking of buying again, this time value Y, waiting until bitcoin value doubles, cashing out Y but having increased my overall bitcoin holding value.

Am I mad? I'm looking for logical opinions, not full on bitcoin bias ones, because I love bitcoin but I have to balance with it was everyday life considerations too.

Hey guys, father recently passed away and left me his ledger. I have full access to this and hold the seed phrase etc. I already have possession of everything and we are starting to go through probate. My understanding is because I have possession of the wallet and seed phrase, there is nothing left to do to “transfer” it to myself. He has no online accounts that hold bitcoin, it’s just the wallet.

So my question: Is there anything linking his ownership to the bitcoin and the ledger that would mean solicitors need to get involved? Couldn’t exactly find a concrete answer for this and the executor of the will seems to think it works like a bank account which is tied to identity. From my understanding the only way you could tie his identity to the wallet is a purchase receipt at a stretch. Any help is much appreciated!

Edit: He had in his original will (2020) that all bitcoin in his Swyftx account to go to me. He didn’t update that before he died but last year he transferred it all into the ledger and gave me all the details. My aunty (the executor) wants to put it all through properly so wants details on it for the solicitor. Solicitor doesnt seem to be up to date with how bitcoin works…

It gives me a QR code. which CDC doesnt recognize. and a wallet address. I know CDC doesnt sell SATS. but I do have some BTC I can send. But how?

I currently hold most of my BTC in my Roth IRA however I am debating selling my FBTC and buying all physical BTC. I fully believe in the philosophy of BTC and more and more are seeing how that is against what I believe. I’m currently negative in gains (got in around ~100k so I wouldn’t cause any tax from selling). Thoughts on holding physical BTC over tax differed BTC ETF long term?

For those of you buying Bitcoin through DCA, which exchange would you recommend?

Personally, since I’m based in France, I use Bitstack. As far as I know, the fees are quite reasonable for this kind of service, and it then sends the BTC to a cold wallet. Still, I’m wondering if there might be a better option out there.

I’m currently paying 0.99% in fees with Bitstack, there doesn’t seem to be much spread, and there are zero fees for sending BTC to another address.

There are no bank card fees either if you do your DCA by card.

I have a group of friends that watched me make a ton of money during the 2016-2017 crypto market and asked me to tell them the next time I believed was a good time to buy (surprise, it’s almost always a good time to buy) so whenever it became a bear market, I would shoot the group chat a message and let them know it’s a good time to buy. I would get mocking responses like “Oh yeah I bet it’s a good time to buy, it’s down 10%”. They would even message me the next day when it’s down 11% and say things like “ooh it’s even lower now, I guess today’s a good day to buy too”

And then the bull market comes and my group chat is peppered with angry messages about how they missed the bull run and how I didn’t tell them it’s coming. Messages like “you gotta tell me the next time it’s good to buy!” I quickly learnt that there are just some things people can’t be taught, they have to learn it themselves.

Moral of the story, don’t tell people you’re into crypto and don’t tell people you made gains, regardless of who they are, in the end it’s just a headache for you.

I was greedy in 2022 during the crash and wanted to wait for 12k to buy. 12k never came.

After BTC teleported from 15k to 30k, I wanted a deep dip to 20k to buy. 20k never came.

Then I watched BTC teleport from 25k to 70k without a single down month. Zero dips given.

Then the 50k dip came but got bought up by the market instantly, the window to buy was extremely shortlived and I couldn't get in.

Then BTC proceeded to teleport from 50k to 110k in just a few weeks and I basically missed the whole cycle.

I have a feeling the same people waiting for 40k-50k now will go through what I went through and watch as BTC teleports to 500k (or whatever the next top is) without a single major dip.

The bears seem to think 78-80 is the main hurdle. If we cross that, some bears will enter long. There’s another cme gap and a ton of liquidity. Many bears will also change their stance if we pass 85k, which will happen.

Think about it, bears r bearish until they get scared and decide to switch long. Longs get complacent thinking we go to the moon when we pass 85k.

That seems to be the sweetspot target. Whether we dump or continue from there who knows. But 86k, that will likely get hit. Very few ppl think it’s likely or r even talking ab it. That is y I think market will go there. Too many retail bears think they have it all figured out.

Docs for Bitrefill virtual debit cards talk about a variety of countries where they can be used as payment like any other CC or debit/gift card. But the pages on my local Bitrefill website for the virtual debit cards make it sound like they can only be used within my own country. (USA)

Which is correct?

All I want to do is make a small, legal purchase with a foreign merchant and use the small amount of BTC I have left in my BTC wallet to do that. No funny stuff.

Today bitcoin had a nice surge. Stocks like Cleanspark, Riot Platforms, Keel Infrastructure, and so on, were up about 5%. Strategy though was up about 10%.

Where would you put your money, on bitcoin mining stocks that promise to go into AI data centers, or Strategy? Seems Strategy has a huge upside right now, but I'm less sure about those bitcoin mining (to AI data center) stocks.

I don't know, it's a bit tiring reading certain posts that start by saying they've been holding BTC for X years and then use that as justification for the post. What do you think about this?

Edit: I'm only referring to those who use it as justification for giving financial advice. If you're proud of having held for a long time and want to share it, that's not a bad thing, obviously. We all want to have that discipline, patience, and opportunity to share it someday the achievement.

As I recovered an old email account I found I had a coinbase account I had completely forgotten about. It’s not much, compared to other folks in this sub, but it has .25 BTC and other currencies from forks in the past 9 years since I bought it.

I had completely forgotten about it and, because of it, never declared in my tax returns. Apparently I should have done that and submit an ID to coinbase.

I haven’t done anything yet, or touched the currencies. Am I fucked? or can I just submit my ID and declare in the tax return next year?

I’ve been buying Bitcoin since 2012/2013. I’ve lived through it all, studied all cycles in detail, and I’m usually dead silent on Reddit, I just lurk, watch, and stay out of the noise. Never really comment.

But… This feels massively like the 2013 cycle and the 2021 cycle. We’d hit a top, then a brutal dip where everyone piled into the “lower lows incoming,” “it’s over,” narrative. Capitulation everywhere. Then, surprise, it bounced hard and went on to make new cycle highs.

That’s exactly what I see playing out right now.

We topped at roughly $126,200 in early October 2025. Since then we’ve had the classic post-peak flush, fear, and bearish calls for even lower prices. But to me this looks like the same retest/bounce setup we’ve seen before. The crowd is getting shaken out again right before the next leg higher.

In my experience, this is when things get very bullish. A lot of people are going to sit on the sidelines waiting for “the real bottom” that never comes.

People think the cycle top has com and we have entered bear, but the market is maturing and becoming longer. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if we see the cycle top sometime in late 2026 or 2027 in the $180k–$220k range.

Just my two sats after watching this market for over a decade. Do your own research, never financial advice… but damn if this doesn’t feel familiar in the best possible way.

Heavy liquidity in the 80s along with 2 cme gaps. If the bulls r really lucky they can hit 90k which has a ton of liquidity. At that point no one will know if we’re back in a bull market.

Look, I'm still down. I started buying near the ATH, but been buying ever since and nearing break-even now. Don't know where this story will end and if I will hold forever or sell (parts of it).

What I do know is that I learned a lot! About blockchain in the first place, about the shift in financial structure, but most of all: how to deal with volatility.

Man, when I only invested in S&P500, -2% days hit me hard. I watched my account and saw a month's salary wash away in a day. But since riding this Bitcoin train, with -50% in my first period, those small drops don't matter so much anymore.

Truly a life lesson, especially on the investing side.

If its too stressful for you, don't buy, simple. Find the middle for yourself, sit back and then relax, simple.

I'm currently building a Bitcoin product that aims to make buying, selling, sending, paying with and requesting Bitcoin as simple as possible. The technology is already built, and I'm currently in an 8-week program with Entrepreneurs First in San Francisco.

The biggest missing piece right now is finding the right co-founder. I'm curious what people here think makes someone a strong co-founder for a Bitcoin startup. For me, the ideal person is less about a specific resume and more someone who is extremely driven, good at execution, can build partnerships and wants to help make Bitcoin more accessible.

My own background is in engineering. I built the product myself, previously worked at Tesla, and have been focused on Bitcoin for years.

If anyone here has gone through something similar, found a co-founder through the Bitcoin community, or has advice on where to meet the right people, I'd be interested to hear it.

I have money in a traditional brokerage account which is doing typical returns. However I feel like btc has been such a better value these past few years, even with lower returns from previous cycles. I know the next BTC halving is 2028 and historically has always resulted in new ATHs.

I also know this is a biased sub to ask about this asset but if I were to dump 50k into btc now, do you think that’d it pay off? Are you expecting a 150-200k per btc?

My long term goal is to buy a house and I just feel like if I invested it now, it could possibly double that downpayment.

Hello, I have a concern based on semi-technical article I read on local (Czech) news site.

I have some Bitcoin in a cold storage address in the "old" format (starting with "1F...") that I have created in 2015. During the following 11 years, my BTC just sat there, with very few partial withdrawals (3 or 4 total). No "change address" was used, the remaining BTC are still in the same wallet. I do not intend to do anything with the remaining BTC in the near future, I just want them to sit there.

Unfortunately, during those 10 years, I was less active in the Bitcoin scene and did not closely watch the developments and happenings in the world of Bitcoin. I just want to hold the remaining BTC for several more years, I don't need them now.

My question is: Are my remaining BTC still reasonably safe in that old address or is there some truth to the rumor that "Old format BTC wallets are now at risk?"

P.S: Of course, my private key from that wallet is securely stored and I am aware of the importance of it not being leaked / lost. That's not what my question is about.

UPDATE: I am genuinely perplexed why some users here keep suggesting to "get Trezor". I would STILL have to store the private key somewhere (in case the Trezor malfunctions) and the device itself would only introduce a new attack vector. I am absolutely at loss understanding how Trezor could possibly be useful in my scenario, where I am only planning to do ONE additional transaction from this address to the exchange.

I’ve been unable to log in to my Blockchain.com account since yesterday, and it’s starting to become really concerning. I’ve tried multiple ways to regain access, including completing the email verification process and using my seed phrase for recovery, but each time I run into the same issue, an error screen that prevents me from moving forward. No matter what approach I take, I seem to hit a dead end.

At this point, I’m not sure whether this is a broader issue affecting other users or something specific to my account. “Provably fair” gets mentioned a lot in crypto casinos now. It sounds good and all, but after looking into it more, I realized the term has been watered down by many. Some sites implement it well, while others just mention it just so they can look great on the surface.
