If Bitcoin grows way beyond your target allocation, do you actually rebalance?

I’ve been thinking about this after seeing how quickly crypto can become a much bigger part of a portfolio without adding any new money.

Say you’re comfortable with 10-15% in crypto, but a big Bitcoin run eventually pushes that to 25-30%.

Selling some and rebalancing is the obvious answer, but that can also mean realizing gains and creating a tax bill.

Personally I’d be more inclined to stop adding to crypto and direct new money into equities until the rest of the portfolio catches up, rather than constantly selling to maintain an exact percentage.

Curious how others handle this. Do you actually rebalance back to a target, or just use new contributions to gradually bring the allocation down?
